How to prevent Spotify from automaitically playing when I get in the car!? (iPhone).

Solved!

How to prevent Spotify from automaitically playing when I get in the car!? (iPhone).

Hi,

I've googled the question for an easy fix and can't find a reasonable answer.  I don't want to stop and close the app each time...I'd rather just not have it start playing music.  It's annoying.

Thank you!  Daniel

Hi! I don't think this is really an issue with spotify becasue a lot of cars will play music on any platform if the phone connects to the car via bluetooth. The only thing I can think of to stop this is to either turn off your bluetooth when you get out of your car or fully close out the app. (like double tap the home button and swipe up on spotify)

Hope this helps! 🙂

Hi @Flowmasterone, if you have recently played Spotify, and it is still showing up in the media controls, then iOS will automatically continue playing if it picks up your car's bluetooth or aux connection.

There's not an awful lot that Spotify can do to fix this, as it's an iOS design choice. The only thing you can do is close Spotify out of the app switcher (like this! https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/article-gallery/articles/iPhone/Close-and-Restart.gif) and then it shouldn't play automatically when you get in the car.

Let me know how you go!
