Living in Sweden but my phone language is in English - why is part of Spotify in Swedish?

I have a premium account, and this problem is both on my iPhone 12 on iOS 14.4 and on my MacBook Pro. I have tried android and there is the same problem. I live in Sweden, but I use English on all my devices. But I big part of content in Spotify is still in Swedish. And yes I have changed to English in the settings on Spotify for Mac. I think this is a big problem! I mean I can’t be the only one living in a country and wanting another language in Spotify? Pleas tell me a fix for this! It is so damn unprofessional otherwise by Spotify!

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community.

 

You should be able to change the country setting on your desktop app by following the steps here. If that doesn't work as expected, it's possible some of the app files have gotten damaged and are causing that setting to malfunction. Let us know if this issue persists once you've performed a clean reinstall on the affected device. We recommend this step since it'll get you the latest app version with all necessary updates and remove any corrupted files from previous installations.

Hi! Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately this doesn’t fix my problem. I have already done all of the things you asked me to do. The mix of English and Swedish is still there.

Any other ideas? Thanks

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

 

Just to make sure that we're on the same page - do you mean that parts of the app interface are in Swedish or content you get recommended? If it's the latter, please keep in mind that a part of the Made For You section is based on what other users with similar tastes like and on the region you're currently in. This is not affected by the language setting of the app. 

 

Other users have however requested a feature to disable such recommendations and posted this idea. If this is something you'd also like, make sure to add your support there and subscribe to the idea. We'll post any updates on the matter there as a Status Update, as soon as there are any.

 

If you mean however that parts of the interface are in Swedish, note that with the log out everywhere feature you will prompt a resynch of your account data with our servers. Could you let us know if the issue persists afterwards? It would be also helpful if you could borrow a friend or family members account and see if the language setting works properly there. We'd also really appreciate screenshots of the app where sections in the wrong language are visible. You can attach them to your reply via the Post Editor.
