I have the same problem - my inbox disappeared yesterday after the latest Spotify update 😞 I really hope they fix this issue soon....

So its a bug in the most recent update...I wondered if that was the issue.  Hope they fix it soon!

Thanks

i have this issue also! where's the inbox icon gone? 😞

Try reinstalling the app.

Spotify have finally told me why my inbox has disappeared... I'm actively trying to have the inbox readded to my account. I have no idea why they think this is acceptable at all for premium customers...

This does not appear to be the case for me. My inbox is there on my iPad and on my Mac. It's only missing from my iPhone. I've deleted and reinstalled the app but that didn't fix the issue.

It's likely the same issue, because my inbox always worked on my Mac. It seems to be only affecting iPhones. I asked spotify to put it back and within an hour it reappeared!

I would advise contacting spotify by email or, like I did, Twitter and asking them if you're on a testing list like I was and take it from there.

Good luck!

Will do... Thanks

Hi,

I've been in contact with Spotify support and got the following vague reply:

"Date: Mon, 23 Mar 2015 16:48:12 +0000From: support@spotify.com

Hey there,

Thanks for your email.

I've looked into your inbox issue: It sounds like you're seeing one of a few changes we've made to Spotify recently, which may or may not be permanent.

Your feedback - which I'll pass on to the relevant people here - is important because, overall, we try out these changes as part of our ongoing dedication to make Spotify even better.

Enjoy the music!

All the best,"

My reply was that I do not see the removal of access to my inbox/messages on my phone as an improvement, i.e. it does not make Spotify better. One on the main reasons I have a premium subscription is so I can receive & read messages on my phone, and if this option is removed I will be changing my subscription to unlimited instead.

Yeah, they weren't really willing to do anything about it until I replied with threats to leave the service. IMO it's unacceptable to 'test' on paying customers if they haven't opted in to do so... it's effectively removing a feature you pay good money for. Just insist on having your inbox out back and don't give up!

I have the same annoying issue - no icon on old iPhone 4 or new iPhone 6 Plus. Guess it must be account-related. Wrote support, now waiting for the bucket-of-water to hit me..

I have the same problem and I'm starting to get really annoyed by Spotify's comtempt for their premium customers. How is removing the inbox  - or any other functionaliy, like removing the favorites star funciton -  ever going to make Spotify "even better"?

Who the hell is leading these "improvements" at Spotify!? With each "upgrade" the functionality gets worse!

Really unacceptable! Spotify can only act like this because there is not enough competition. I was staying on Spotify for the social aspects: I could easliy see my friends' favorites (I cannot anymore) and could easily send and receive songs, which is now also gone.

The good thing of removing important social functionality from Spotify is that I will have less hurdles stepping over to the competition - since it hardly matters anymore on which platform my friends are! Please fix this - and while you're at it - the favorites functionality and visibility at others - or I will.

Contacting Spotify support helps .. If you keep INSISTING that you want the inbox-feature, you WILL get it.. Its totally stupid that only some users have this feature!

The issue (whatever it is?) is on Spotify and has to do with some kind of user settings. I simply demanded to get off the group of users NOT having the inbox feature, and it helped me!

Good luck everyone!

Thanks... I'll give Support a try.

In my last message where I said my inbox had returned after having to nag spotify senseless for about a week to put it back, I have unfortunately only had more issues...

My account would no longer work with facebook which meant my friends couldn't find me to send me songs, and at times, my messages wouldn't go through to my friends.

In the end, after days of SLOW AS F email correspondence with spotify, who I assume must have a customer service team consisting of around 5 elderly ladies offering expert support such as "have you tried logging out?", I eventually came to terms with the fact that my account had been completely ruined by their figeting and just demanded, and managed to get a refund. Set up a new account now and everything is okay.

But yeah, spotify is going downhill. Like you said, the first dumb thing they did was remove the star feature in favour of the 'my music' section... as if they somehow think both concepts provide a similar function? They don't! But this latest BS about deleting people's inboxes and then responding as if its some kind of "you're on a testing list!" privilege is just insane. Spotify just keep changing their interface for no reason instead of actually adding new, useful features like an EQ on their desktop app or, fix their unrealiable as hell wifi sync thing that hardly works.

You need to get on their backs about your inbox though, just go for it and good luck.

I'm probably going to switch back over to iTunes once they integrate Beats. No more hassle

HA HA HA!!

This is so HI-LA-RI-OUS .. A couple of days after I had support turn on the Inbox on my account (iPhone) they have F***ING turned it off again : D

I do not know what to say on this, they act like a bunch of idiots. Every answer from support has been different peoply and the tone-of-voice is like teenagers..

I am SO sick of the ameteurism and the way they treat their customers and SO close to an everlasting ADIOS suckers!!

I was informed today that I am on the test group list as well, after going back and forth for the past week via email with the "support" team. This is completely unacceptable. It was also extremely rude how the last email was to the tone of "sorry for the inconvenience but we aren't fixing it for you" when they are aware of how outraged I am. My friends pay for the service as well and did NOT have this issue. Hate to say it but I will be canceling. TERRIBLE customer service from this company. If you're going to be making a change, do it on everyone's apps, not select people who actually pay.

Glad to see I'm not alone here. I'll be canceling too when Apple comes out with their new service. Good kuck!
