Moving music from an old Ipod to spotify

Moving music from an old Ipod to spotify

Hey y'all

I am trying to move all the music from the old Ipod to a spotify playlist which i can then listen to on my new Iphone. So far its working fine but I've hit a hitch.

I moved all the music from my old ipod onto a folder on my computer which was ideal.

This folder was then imported into the "Local Files" on my Spotify desktop app. I could then copy this to a new playlist which i could name 'old ipod' or something and access it on my phone.

The issue i am having now my old ipod was a mixture of genuine tracks and some tracks that arent "genuine" (They have unusual names and missing details etc. The artist might be "01Eminem" for example)

So from the phones point of view, my new spotify playlist is a mix of genuine songs that already exist on spotify and all the other songs that spotify obviously wont recognise. I can play the genuine songs no problem but the other songs are greyed out.  (attached)

Is there any way of making spotify recognise the other songs without having to make them available offline ?  How does spotify even know that a local file is already an actual track in its database somewhere!
