Firstly, make sure all the files import into Spotify are:

a. Not protected by DRM

b. In supported format (https://support.spotify.com/us/using_spotify/features/listen-to-local-files/)

Secondly, check your computer and mobile devices (iPhone) in the same WiFi network.

Thirdly, remove the playlist which you find the problem.

Fourthly, remove and re-add the "Local Sources" - wait until all songs synced.

Then, reopen Spotify app (MAC)

After that, you will see all the songs added can be played in Spotify (Mac)

Finally, create a whole new playlist on mac

(Recommend using different name to prevent sync error)

And check all the songs inside the playlist, whether they can be played or not.

7.Download playlist(s) on your iPhone

Easy right? Feel free to give me a shout if work 🙂

I tried several times. i wouldn't work for me. click download playlist but no songs are showing up in the playlist on my phone.

Have you tried unchecking the 'hide unplayable songs' button under settings>playback on your phone? You should be able to see it greyed out then be able to download it from there.

Does music that is protected by DRM get picked up by the Spotify when trying to import the music to your device to help prevent piracy?

No.
