New Releases

Solved!

New Releases

How come the new releases tab is always leaving many artists out of the mix? I can find an exorbitant amount of new music releases on iTunes and they are hidden on spotify. They should be in the new releases category. I should have to open iTunes and hunt for the albums in the spotify library.

Spotify only shows new releases from big artists.

You can follow any artist on Spotify to get notifications on their new releases. (which is a better option)

I understand I would have to follow all the artists I like(which is a broad selection) to be able to see all there new releases. That is just another flaw that should be changed. Definitely not a solution to my complaint.

If you install the Playlists.net app from the app store, it links to your Spotify account and has a much more complete listing of new releases.

I can't figure our how to post a new message, so hopefully someone will see this and can help.  Two Sunday's ago, the 22nd to be exact, I was browsing the New Releases and found an album (an ep i think) that I loved.  I thought that I saved it as a playlist, but my service was spotty and I don't think it saved.  The album cover is what caught my attention, so unfortunately that is all I remember.  When I went back to new releases, it wasn't there 😞    I was on my phone and not my desktop but I have looked at my history in on my desktop and of course it wasn't there.  I have searched the internet high and low and can't seem to find anywhere to see it.  It is driving me crazy!!! I would love to find it again!  Any help is much appreciated!

Hey @katebroussard -- the only playlist I found added to your account around the 22nd was this one, but that should be showing okay in your account so I'm guessing that's not it.

Does it show in your recovered playlists at all?

Hey Adam-

Unfortunately that isn't it.  I created the other one before this one, or so I thought.  I was riding in the mountains, so I must have lost service and it didn't register.  Whatever the album is that I am trying to find was positioned right next to the one that was successfully made into a playlist (Vetusta Morla) on the New Releases page.  Unfortunately it does not show up in my recovered playlists. 😞

Thanks for the suggestions!

I don't think it's that simple.  What's Big on Top 40 isn't big in Indie world isn't big on Sfy.

Fact is my New Releases tab hasn't changed in months.  It's hugely disappointing. I haven't played any of the artists they have at the top, so I'd hope they'd be tracking and get something else in front of me, if not just deliver New Releases as they should.

I tried to post earlier on this very topic, but the post dissappeared/wasn't approved...

Neon Jungle has been at the top of my new released for over a week. Nothing in my music taste even comes close to this, and the only reason I can assume it has stayed there so long is that it's a promoted album. I pay premium fees and did so to avoid advertising - not to be pushed albums which arent in my interest.

New Releases should probably be called 'Promoted Albums'!

P.S. This is on my Desktop as well as iOS...
