New Update-Upset

I have been an avid Spotify user for months. That has changed with this ridiculous new "update".  A couple of days ago, Spotify couldn't detect my iPod Touch 4 on my mac. So, I deleted the app of my ipod touch intending to reinstall it. Big mistake. I can't install it because it states that I need iOS 7.0, which is NOT available for ipod generation 4. I can still use it on my ipad but I don't need it on my ipad. I mostly use spotify when I'm outdoors everyday & I have my ipod touch because my ipad is too inconvienient to carry around. Well, I guess no more spotify.

The devices section will be coming back to the desktop app in a future update.

In the meantime:
You won't be able to see an indication in the desktop client that the device is paired with the desktop client. But as long as they both are on the same WiFi network you should be able to trigger the sync by toggling the offline toggle on the playlist on your device.

Since you deleted the app, I'm not sure how you'll be able to get it back since Spotify just recently discontinued support for iOS 6:

If you backed up your iPod to iTunes, there might be a .iPA file for the app still somewhere in iTunes. You could just sync it back over.
