Only a few of my playlists appear on my IPad

Only a few of my playlists appear on my IPad

I have premium (or at least a free trial of it) and see that only around 15 of my playlists appear on the iPad. It isn't set to offline mode, and I've switched between hiding and not hiding unavailable tracks to no avail - this only changes slightly the number of tracks shown in these few playlists. Any suggestions, please? Another question: is it possible to stream with my ipad the iTunes tracks which I imported to spotify on my pc? I don't have enough storage on my iPad to save my iTunes tracks, so it would be great to be able to stream them via spotify. Many thanks

I see now that it is in fact ONLY my iTunes playlists which have synchronised with my Spotify iPad app. Am I doing something very basic wrong here? Also very disappointed that my iPhone 3G (still going strong) is not supported by the spotify app.

ikd24, do you use facebook?  if so, do you have your facebook and spotify accounts linked?  If so, refer to the post I just made "problem solving for freshly downloaded spotify app".   I have no idea if what I refer to there is what your problem is related to, but if you have your facebook and spotify accounts linked, it may be.

Thanks for replying and the explanatory thread... sadly though I don't use my facebook account for Spotify. I am pretty clueless as to what I'm doing wrong. There seem to be many complaints about Spotify on iOS. Together with these and the lack of an app for my 3G iPhone (which is still only 2 years old) really puts me off extending my Premium plan after the trial 😞

Hi Ikd24 - I can confirm your account is healthy on our end with an active Premium trial.

Please be sure you're following all of the syncing steps outlined out on our website, especially connecting your desktop and iPad to the same Wi Fi. If you're connecting via a USB rather than wirelessly it could be the problem here.

If you're still having trouble, let us know free space you have on your device.

Hi Meredith,

Thanks for the reply. I have read the instructions, but am a bit confused - isn't it possible to stream Spotify music (not purchased or from iTunes) over wifi with a wifi iPad?

On this page: http://www.spotify.com/uk/help/faq/mobile/#sync-your-device-with-spotify

"Phone... 6. Choose the playlists you would like to sync for offline use on your phone. " - I don't want anything for offline use, I just want to be able to stream everything over wifi. Is that possible? And don't the playlists and tracks get synched automatically and instantly over WIFI (as long as I'm signed in to Spotify), without having to connect anything?

Perhaps the "Phone" section isn't applicable, because I'm using a WIFI iPad...

Under iPod: "When syncing your music from Spotify to your iPod, only music from your Downloads, and music that you have imported into Local Files, will be transferred." So this is perhaps why I can't stream any music - it's only possible to play (via streaming) my imported iTunes music on the iPad? I haven't bought any tracks on Spotify.

Thanks again!

Hi Ikd24 - Ah I see, my apologies. I thought the issue was syncing your playlists for offline use.

The first thing I'd try here is a clean reinstallation of the app on your iPad:

1. Delete the Spotify application from your iPad. To do this, press and hold the application until it hovers and then press the X symbol
2. Restart your iPad
3. Install Spotify again from the AppStore

4. When you log back in, be sure you're using your 'Ikd24' username (not your email).

Also, I can see you have 350+ playlist, some of which have 100s of tracks. These are also organised in numerous folders. If you're still having trouble after a clean reinstallation, try consolidating some of those folders to see if that helps.

Meredith, out of curiosity, did my thread on a newly downloaded ios app make any sense?  The reasons I'm asking are a) I'm curious about the topic generally (the mobile app works fairly well, but it surprises me how much trouble it gives when freshly downloaded), and b) I am wondering if the issue I discuss could be resolved simply by logging in to the desktop app with the same wifi connection.

Hi, I'm having a big problem with the spotify iPad version. I have more tan 100 playlist, but in the iPad not all the playlists appears, why¿ It's there any limit of playlists in ipad?

Shouldn't be, does the app say loading or anything or do they just not display?

Its worth a quick log out and back in again on all of your devices to force a playlist resync.
