Phone closes and Spotify crashes

Just started happening; six hours ago this was not an issue. I put on a podcast with a timer and when my phone locks, Spotify crashes. There is no issue when the phone is on (it’s been playing in the background without issue) and this has happened multiple times. I restarted my phone but this hasn’t fixed the issue.

I also just started having this issue today, it looks like there was an app update because the interface has changed slightly.

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Could you share the brand, model and operating system of the devices you're using? We also need the Spotify app version installed on those devices.

Could you check in the meantime, if the Spotify app is allowed to run in the background? This should be a setting on your devices.
