I'd strongly recommend changing your password as this means someone has access to your account.
Have the exact same thing going on, it's starting to drive me nuts.... keeps happening every day, not every minute, but at least once, sometimes multiple times a day, exact same account name....
Same thing happening to me, same username too
Like I said in the post, I logged out and changed my passwords instantly. I do not believe someone has full access to my account, I think they're exploiting some sort of bug.
Yep, I think the same. All Spotify support said was "have you given any friends access to your account"
I have the exact same issue, with the exact same username.
Today I had the same. The same user's playlist (erindavis23).
Can't Spotify aknowledge the problem and tell us what's being done to fix it? It's really freaking annoying...
The exact same happened to me just now. Same behavior, same user. User was logged in(?) through the web player and signed off again after starting the playlist. The songs weren't even fully played, but skipped in order to "start" all songs.
If Spotify support is really neglecting this then they will have huge problems on their end once more and more people report the same behavior. I wonder what it will take for them to actually investigate this - how public do they want this to get?
Just had this happen to me - Googled it, which is how I found this.
Was listening online on my phone and the songs paused a couple of times. Last time it did it I looked and it said it was playing from a playlist made by erindavis23 on the web player - presumably on his/her's computer as I was using my phone.
I changed my password immediately, but still, Spotify should look into this!
I have also had this issue. Taken the same security precautions. Glad to see I'm not the only one, hopefully this is nothing too serious.
Yup exact same thing - Keep trying to listen on Spotify web player - I think my original Spotify account password got hacked and because I linked it up with Facebook I never noticed. If anyone experiences something similar make sure that you change your password then go to Account > Sign out everywhere (But I imagine changing password would do the same thing...)
Happened to me in these last few days.
Yes.
With the same user. Same playlist. Via Spotify Webplayer.
He/she always listens to Bailando - Spanish Version by Enrique Iglesias
Any help?
Hey all!
I looked the user up too, it does look like some sort of a strange bot-like account. Unknown number of playlists, 4 songs in each where only the 1st song changes.
Do you have Premium account?
Going to your Spotify account page, hitting 'Sign Out Everywhere' and then changing the password should generally kick out every unauthorized user and device.
Also, make sure you're not using some strange apps. Don't worry about the Lithium one, that'll be added back as soon as you visit this page anyway, should you revoke its access.
I also recommend reading this article about what to do when your account has been compromised. 🙂
Hey all! Try @Sebasty‘s tips to make sure your account is secure. We are doing our best to get spotify to take a look at this bug. Patience is key.
Was there anyone at your house or same wifi that could have done it?
Thanks
Logan
I have thought about this for a while and I do think it has to be some sort of security issue.
For those that have encountered this, would you mind providing some information so we might learn more? (since Spotify is apparently not picking this up yet)
1) What device were you listening on?
2) Do you log in by username or Facebook?
3) Premium/free?
4) How often has this occured?
5) Have you logged out everywhere and changed password? (If so, did it happen again after?)
6) Do you use any Spotify apps?
7) Do you use any password plugins?
For me:
1) iOS, iPhone 6s
2) Facebook
3) Premium (through telecom provider promotion)
4) Once
5) Yes, did not happen again
6) No, only thing I used was some collab party playlist app about 2 years ago
7) Yes, LastPass
I Had the same Problem even with the Same Person Werks ago ... I changed Passwords Bit now Its there again...
Still having this issue after changing my password multiple times.
Same here. It's freaking me out.. Once I was listening music in my car and of kept going on stopping my music.
This is going on for more than a month now! Please Spotify, you can't ignore this.... I really love using Spotify for years already and I do not want to leave because of unacceptable security issues at a company as big as this
