Playlist disables shuffle after skipping a song in my car

Hi, I've recently been having an issue regarding spotify usage in my car with my iPhone. Whenever I play music through Ford Audio using spotify and skip a song on one of my playlists shuffle becomes disabled and songs continue to play in the order presented on the playlist. This occurs when skipping the song using the steering wheel controls.

The problem was not always apparent and has only recently occurred and I cannot pinpoint exactly what is causing the issue or how to fix it.

Does anyone know why this is happened or how I can go about troubleshooting/fixing the issue?
