My Question or Issue

When I play a song on a radio station, for some reason it generates a queue that doesn't match what it shows on the radio playlist screen. It doesn't do this for actual playlists. This is incredibly frustrating and basically makes the radio feature useless. I've already tried a clean install on my phone following the instructions here. This didn't change anything. I can't find any other answer online.

Hi there @shahmir1208,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. We'd like to take a closer look into this.

Can you try the following to see if the issue persists.

  1. Go to the Radio playlist from a song
  2. Click the first song in the Radio playlist again (it should be the song that you entered the radio playlist from)
  3. Check if the queue match the Radio playlist

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Take care!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

I am having the same problem and doing what you suggest above doesn't work. Sometimes clicking on the first song in the radio playlist doesn't do anything. That is, it doesn't play the song. Clearing the queue doesn't do anything either. This is really frustrating.

Hey @dktrdr,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

We appreciate the troubleshooting you've done so far, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use these steps for a clean reinstall? They are more thorough than a regular one. That way you can make sure the cache is not causing this issue.

Also, would you mind confirming if this issue happens using a different device?

We'll be on the lookout.

I have the same issue but I noticed another problem. The queue constantly changing while skipping songs or while listening to music without skipping (shuffle is turned off). I made a screen recording of it (https://i.imgur.com/jI47nPI.mp4). Everything works fine with Spotify on Windows, but sadly I can't test on another phone.

Edit: I would like to add that, regarding dktrdr's comment, I can't play almost any song in a radio by clicking them, not just the first one.

Hi @vrexon,

Thanks for the screen recording!

Song Radios (as well as all other playlists curated by Spotify) are bound to such dynamic changes across individual devices, so the track order of the playlist may be slightly different on your phone, compared to your computer. These changes may also occasionally occur even on the same device (for example, when you relaunch the playlist), even while listening to music.

Hope this clears things up. Take care.

I am also having this problem. Really annoying! I’ve tried everything.

I still have the same problem. Normal playlists play just fine. As soon as I start a radio on a track, album or anything else I get this weird behavior:

  • The first track I usually can click and play.
  • other tracks I have to click repeatedly at which point they may start playing.
  • skipping next doesn’t play the next song but skips a random amount of tracks.
  • shuffle is turned off
  • after one or two tracks it starts over from the beginning of the radio, playing the same few tracks over and over.

I first noticed this behavior in the beginning of December 2022. I have removed cache, “unloaded” the app and then uninstalled it as per the guide above.

Any more ideas on how to solve this?
