Return "Add to Playlist" to Three-Dot Menu in Queue and New Releases on Mobile!!

Return "Add to Playlist" to Three-Dot Menu in Queue and New Releases on Mobile!!

"Add to playlist" button in the Queue and New Releases section on mobile has been inexplicably removed from the expanded menu opened using the three dot button.

In every other three-dot menu I saw, they're all identical (and include "add to playlist"), but it's been removed from these two at least. The inconsistency is jarring itself.

I would use that to add new albums I wanted to listen to directly into a playlist I would play to listen to new (to me) albums consecutively. Clearly, being able to do this from a page of the app dedicated to new music was helpful for me.

I also used it to make the queue more useful, by letting me make a long queue (e.g., of multiple albums and a dozen songs from discover weekly/radios/mixes/radar/etc), and save it as a playlist for later. Somewhere I know it won't randomly disappear (as is common in syncing between pc/mobile, or if I'm away from the app for a device-specific while).

This change adds going to the album page and clicking the three dots again (for the old menu, which is also the one used everywhere else). Or having to add to queue and add to playlist in the same order (also missing out on the nifty dragging of the queue page, or having to arrange it twice).

Hi there @Kotios,

Thanks for reaching out! We've moved your post to the Help board as it fits better here, hope you don't mind!

I tested this out on my end and the option to add a song from the queue to a playlist was there. Is this what you are referring to?

Feel free to elaborate further in case you meant something else. A screenshot / screen recording which captures how things look on your end would also be of help.

As for the albums listed under the New Releases section, note that the three-dot menu is only accessible when viewing the album - the option isn't available directly from New Releases.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

I am not talking about the current song in the queue screen; it's not a part of queue and the options for the currently playing song in the queue view, as far as I know, has always been identical to those of the currently playing song in any other view. I'm talking about the ability to select multiple songs in the queue and add them to a playlist. Maybe that has never existed on mobile, but it does on PC. I'm much more confident it did exist in the "What's New" screen on mobile.

There is no "help" for you to offer here unless you're developing the app; I'm unconcerned with whether or not that existed in the queue screen (though I feel like queue on mobile was more useful to me previously, I can believe that that's confabulated). That's not meant as an attack, but I'm confused at how phrases like "this changes makes [me feel bad, despite my awareness of alternative ways to perform the task]" reads to you as looking for help.

A month or less ago, I was able to add an album to a playlist from the "What's New" page to a playlist directly from the three dot menu, without having to navigate to the album page. Or, again, even if I'm making that up, I'd strongly prefer if that's how the app functioned. I am aware of every and all of the workarounds, I'm concerned with my experience as a user.

Hi @Kotios,

Thanks for your reply. We apologize if we misunderstood your message, thanks for clarifying the situation.

We've checked and you're right, from the 'What's new' section, the options to 'Add to playlist' or 'Add to Queue' are not available anymore. We understand the inconvenience as these features were very useful to you. We sometimes make changes or remove options to test stuff.

But we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. We'll make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience, but we can't confirm when or if this will be fixed. That being said, we'd recommend keeping the app and the device's firmware up to date so you don't miss out on any possible fixes or improvements.

If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
