My Question or Issue

 

1. In the past, whenever I would select a new song, the whole queue would reshuffle. I liked this feature. Now it adds the new song, but keeps the old queue. This is equivalent to “Add song to queue” where it would add the song to the top of the queue. I don’t know what the point of this feature is, unless it’s a bug. 

2. Switching between normal “Shuffle” and “Smart Shuffle” is completely broken. I will try to change it, but then I look at the queue and it instantly changes back to how it was before. This is very frustrating and I can’t seem to switch out of smart shuffle no matter what I do. (This also seems to be an issue on the desktop version, but that’s another discussion)

 

3. The feature “Remove from queue” seems to be broken. In the queue menu, I select a few songs in the queue that I don’t want to play out loud to my family, then I press remove from queue. The next song plays, and the queue is instantly back to how it was with the removed songs right back where they were. Infuriating.

 

It seems Spotify has this new  Quirk  where it insists the songs stay in the same order all the time. And of course I’ve tried to completely close and reset the app, but the issues persist. The app is fully updated but these issues seem to get worse and worse.

 

There are so many issues with the queue and shuffling, it’s getting so frustrating. This is the last straw and I will no longer be paying extra for bad software quality.

As I’ve said, I have restarted the app and restarted my phone. I have completed deleted and reinstalled the app, but the issues keep coming back. I don’t even know what you mean when you say “reduce queue length” how is that even relevant? 

I’m sick of your temporary solutions. This shouldn’t be an issue in the first place. Please just have someone report this and put this in ongoing issues. I want to know this is being addressed.

 

Also, why are you giving me this copy paste script as an account that was made the same day? What scummy community website is this?

This happens on phone or pc, no matter if it's a fresh install or has been installed for years

 

Especially point 2 is very annoying.

 

(this has been like this for years at this point.)
