Shuffle STILL NOT WORKING!

Why do you refuse to fix this, Spotify? No matter how you sort to the playlist (A->Z, Recently added, etc.) it will only play songs from the beginning of that list. I'm gonna start looking for other playlist apps/sites. Any recomendations?

I have this problem also. Have a number of playlists from 50 to 800 tracks. Shuffle will only play the first several artists. Doing some research shows this has been a problem for years. Why can't Spotify fix this? Seriously, it bugs me so much I'm thinking of going back to Apple Music.

Read through some forum posts on the poor Spotify shuffle implementation (many posts. Couldn't read them all). Some folks felt they had found some work arounds. Tried them out, but with limited success:

1) Start at bottom of playlist. Yes this will get you a different set of songs than just hitting the shuffle play button, but the selection is still limited.

2) Arrange your playlist alphabetically first, then try shuffle. I did this for track title as well by artist. As in #1, trying shuffle will still get you a small universe of songs. For example, after arranging by track title, I hit the shuffle button. Checked the upcoming song list, and all titles were starting with A-E. you can't scroll down and pick a song at random that begins with R for example, but then your upcoming song list contains title starting with R-U.

We all want a shuffle feature that picks songs at random from our playlists. Why can't Spotify deliver????

It’s so annoying!!!

Let me be clear. There are no workarounds that consistently work. The only solution is for Spotify to tackle this directly. In the meantime I have gone to Apple Music but as soon as this gets fixed I’ll come back because Spotify is just better at everything else EXCEPT shuffling.

Here’s some photos of the problem. I start with a non shuffled queue, then I click shuffle in the bottom left and the queue shuffles but immediately shuffles back to unshuffled.
