Shuffle Sucks

Shuffle will repeat a song 3 times during at 30 minute drive from my playlist of 1,000+ songs. Why would this ever be the case? I should be able to listen for 63h1m with no repeats!

This is incredibly frustrating. I just made a 20 hour drive across the country from TX to PA and I almost unsubscribed because I heard the same damn songs over and over with no way of being able to access my songs without playing the play list straight through.

The reason anyone uses Spotify over the radio is because you get to play your own songs and don’t have to listen to the same one over and over if you don’t want to. Everyone is perfectly capable of replaying a song they just heard, and if that’s what they wanted then they wouldn’t be on shuffle or they would have a smaller playlist.

Since I can’t access 90% of my songs on shuffle why can’t I choose to pay only 10% of my bill?

Maybe what others say is true. You want to prioritize certain record labels so they get more plays and, in turn more money. I’m sure that’s true to a degree, but the level of repetition has to be a bug or something.

Tell the devs to set mine back to an actual shuffle or at least give us the option because this is ridiculous!

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

The shuffle option will prioritize the songs that you enjoy the most and play those in large playlists (over 150 songs), so this is why you might see some songs repeated.

We'd advice to create several smaller playlists as this will generate more randomized playback.

Actually its not helpful since spotify cannot foretell what i want to listen to and it keeps thinking that yeah you like this song even if im in a completely different mood, i am not a 2-bit-person to listen only 150 songs from my 2000 songs, or if its not shuffle but 'here's 150 songs that we think you like the most on shuffle' then do not call it shuffle, that would be fair as well

There is no reason that I should have to split up my playlist just for the shuffle to be useful. Just fix the shuffle!

this is insane I can’t make a playlist shuffle the songs that I take the time to put together. Apple Music does it very well.

another reason I have to use Apple Music more and more frequently over Spotify.
