Shuffle not working properly; repeat not turning off.

Shuffle not working properly; repeat not turning off.

Currently using Spotify premium on my iPhone. Recently I’ve noticed my shuffle option is not working more often than it does. It will usually just load the next song in the list and turn off. I’ve also noticed that my repeat will not stay off. I’ll toggle it off, only to see it turn back on when the next song plays.

Issue still not resolved.

I love Spotify but I'm losing faith.

I have had problems with Shuffle forever. Right now I cannot get a queue to play in shuffle mode on my iPhone X's Max's Spotify app (v 8.5.85.836). Among other workarounds -- not fixed which is needed / this is a BUG -- I have logged out and logged back in and tried other suggestions in help.

But Shuffle is a chronic problem and the UX related to knowing what's going on is inexcusably insufficient to helping. I've sat w software folk who have worked at your and other companies, who at first thought I was missing something and THEY get confused and give up saying, "huh... yeah something's wrong here."

This is unacceptable when some of us are paying a premium price and have been for years / and, this is such a mature company, it’s terrible from both product and customer care to put your most prolific customers through this – and it needs to be solved, not with work WE have to do and via options that would kill off all my cached songs among other wastes of time. It is collectively a pretty bad sign that your software has some serious flaws. Would be much better if you admitted to this and said there would be a SOFTWARE solution at some point soon.

AND for such a first tier feature to be broken should be addressed by proactively reaching out to your users and even to add front end warnings or acknowledgements that something a user is doing doesn’t or may not work.

I later realized that it wasn’t the app that was the problem, it was the
software in my car’s audio system. For some reason whenever I would
connect my iPhone using the car’s usb dock, it would default to “Repeat”
turning off the “Shuffle” option every time a new track would play. My
workaround was using a Bluetooth adapter in my car’s aux input.
