My Question or Issue
It appears that every time I reopen the app on my iPhone, songs added to my liked songs will not shuffle. As I had previously been able to listen to my favorite songs on shuffle even after reopening the app when I was listening to music, this issue suddenly appeared.

Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you check if there's an update available for the app? You can check by following the steps on this page. If no update is available, an option is to do a clean reinstall of the app, which ensures that you're running the latest version as well.
If that doesn't do the trick, can you let us know the model and OS version of your device, along with the exact app version? These details will help us look into this further.

It's not exactly clear to us what the behaviour you have is. Could you elaborate more and explain in a bit more detail what exactly is happening? For example:
Please let us know if any of these options (or none of them) describe what you have. If you can, send us a screen recording, so we can see exactly what is happening, that would be the easiest way. If the files are too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us via Google Drive or as unlisted YouTube videos.

I have the same problem! Only happens with the Liked Songs
I'm also having this problem. The video itselifishcer linked above is pretty much exactly what I see. I mostly listen to music by shuffling my Liked Songs playlist so the fact that the shuffle icon deselects every time I leave the playlist is really really annoying. Especially with the terrible change Spotify made a while ago where you can't reshuffle a playlist, if I want to reshuffle Liked Songs it's now:
This was already a six-click process that used to take one, and now it's just increasing 😕

Thanks for taking the time to notice my issue.
1. The shuffle feature turns itself off on app restart. I only noticed this issue on my liked songs playlist.
2. I do not have any issues with newly added songs missing on my playlist so far.
3. The shuffle button does respond when clicked. However the shuffle feature turns off on app restart.
