Slow offline playlist Wi-Fi Sync - Spotify on iPhone 5

Hello,

I am unsure why, but for some reason Wi-Fi sync appears to be very slow on my iPhone 5 when attempting to make my playlist "avaliable offline". I have an iPhone 4S aswell, which has remarkably fast Wi-Fi syncing, this is not the case for my iPhone 5. I am certain this is not due to my Wi-Fi at home as my speeds are 117 mbits down and 2.7 up. With such a fast download speed, you'd think a 7 mb song would sync in under a second. This is the case on my 4S, but not the 5.

Also, oddly, when using LTE, the sync speed is significantly faster than my wifi for my 5.

I do not think this is a router issue, rather a setting on my iPhone 5. If it helps I do use an Airport Extreme for Wi-Fi.

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing on the iPhone 5. Slow Wifi Sync but fast when using 3G.

Takes about 4 or 5 minutes to sync a single song, when my desktop syncs in a few seconds.

Netgear Wifi Router.

I suspect it's a bug in the Spotify App on IOS6.

My iPhone 4 was much faster at syncing.

I'm having the same issue as well! Wifi sync with offline playlists are very slow!

I contacted Support about this and they deleted my playlists and said 'try again'. WTF...

I am definetly having the same thing. Let it run for 8 hours with spotfy open overnight and still hasn't finished. Been running for over 24 hours and my playlists still havn't synced all the way..

I'm experiencing the exact same issue! Totally anoying! The sync is so slow it has taken me 2 days to load 150 songs.... Thats crazy.... I'm using iPhone5 and Airport Extreme.

Definately still having issues.... Currently trying to sync and it super slow! I have been syncing my iPhone since 5pm (Australia) and its now 8:50pm, and only have been able to sync 100 songs....... 

Any thoughts on what could be the cause? I have check my wifi speed (5mb/s) and have no issues there.....

The issue is definitely using the wifi connection to sync offline playlists. However, I am also from Australia like the guy above. Where is everyone else experiencing this issue? (Even using my university wifi, it is extremely slow)

I am also in Australia. iPhone 5, issue only exists over Wifi. 3G is fine.

I emailed support on this issue. Their reply claimed they did "a little work" on my playlists. This "work" apparently involved deleting all the music that took literally days to sync over WiFi. That said, I wouldn't have minded so much if it actually solved the problem.

Syncing was never blazing fast, but it certainly never was this painfully slow. It took me 10 minutes-plus to download ONE song.

Something's definitely wrong with the Spotify app on the iPhone 5. My iPhone 4 is downloading songs at the rate I'm accustomed to.

Yeah, this is what I keep saying.

Syncing iPhone is usually slower than it should be... But syncing an iPhone 5 is STUPIDLY slow.

Spotify: please provide an update to this. Even if it's just 'yes we accept there's an issue and we are releasing a new software update soon'

There's an older, similiar thread to this one on the board. Based on the few non-substantive replies from Spotify on the issue, there's little reason to believe they'll be forthcoming here.

Looks like a problem we'll have to live with until Spotify updates its app, whenever that is.

Just picked up an iPhone 5 and I'm trying sync a 500 song playlist, literally left it going all night and it's still not done. It transferred much quicker over LTE but I didn't want to have to resort to using all that data just to sync my music.

Between this and playback randomly pausing between tracks on both the iOS and desktop apps, Spotify has definitely been falling apart for me.

I am experiencing the same issue on an iPhone 5 from Verizon on blazing fast (30MB) Wi-fi. Slow sync. Over LTE much faster. Need solution!
