Songs keep skipping when streaming to device via AirPlay

Songs keep skipping when streaming to device via AirPlay

I recently got a new speaker (a Ruark R1S), and since then I'm having real issues listening to Spotify. When I listen to a playlist, or album, it randomly decides to skip past songs, or play in a different order. There's no rhyme or reason to when it does it, but it only occurs when I'm connected to a device via AirPlay, rather than Bluetooth etc.

 

A few notes:

If I'm playing Spotify to my AirPods, they work just fine.

I've done a clean reset on all devices I own, and no change.

My previous speaker was connected to my devices through Bluetooth, and this new speaker connects via AirPlay.

I've included a screen recording here from my iPhone to show the issue.

Hey @mattrichardson1,

 

Welcome to the Community and thanks for the details!

 

As you mentioned that this is only happening when you're using AirPlay to stream music on your devices, the issue seems to be isolated to that particular set up. Unfortunately as it's only happening with AirPlay, we can't guarantee what the issue is exactly, but it is possible for there to be an issue from Apple's end at the moment. We recommend keeping the app updated to the newest version in the meantime.

Hi, this is still happening! It happens on all devices - laptop, phone and iPad. Uploading another video here. Do you have any update from your side please?
