Songs ported from iTunes unplayable/skipping after 1 second

Songs ported from iTunes unplayable/skipping after 1 second

First of all. This is only occuring on the iPhone 7 plus. With or without Wifi. iOS 11.2.1 is installed  - no new update to Spotify on the AppStore is available. No problem with this on Windows 10.

But no song i have had on iTunes and ported across to Spotify is working, it will skip entirely or just pause an entire queue of songs and not play (will maybe play ~1 second of song then stop)

I have tried all available steps found here (5 not possible) :- https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/iOS-Troubleshooting-Spotify/td-p/105341 - 4 is irrelevant as it does this on Cellular network or wifi. Clean uninstall and reinstalled done on Windows 10 - heck my phone was turned off whilst it reinstalled.

No problems with premium not being paid or vice versa, directly out of paypal each month not an issue.

All the songs they are not playing or attempting to play are have the green arrow "downloaded" in the Spotify App.

This has only started in the last month, with no real start point. Have had Spotify premium for 6+ months.

What are my options here? useless to have it working on one device perfectly and not another.

I have the exact same problem, as do a few of my friends and several other people in the Spotify Community. I have realised, similarly to you, that the problem only seems to occur when playing songs that have been imported from my iTunes library (and have the green arrow 'downloaded' arrow), however even when searching the song on Spotify and streaming their version of the track, it still skips. But, I believe this is probably because Spotify searches your device first to see if you have the file locally as it might be easier to play, and it saves your data if you're out, etc.

 

The issue seems to only be apparent in iOS 11.2.1 (others have had similar problems in the past but not EXACTLY like this, especially the songs skipping on BOTH Wi-Fi and cellular). Therefore, I’m not sure if the issue is stemming from Apple’s end or Spotify’s, but as of this point in time I don’t think there’s really a solution, so we just have to bring the issue to either companies attention so they can get to fixing it.
