Just added some new local files to my starred playlist yesterday, and app was crashing when I tried to sync (about 12 songs?)
Then today the same was happening, reinstalled the app, synced all the spotify tracks fine, then tried to sync the local files (approx 150), it made it until the last 60 before crashing. Since then it syncs a couple at a time, before crashing up until the last ~45, and now it crashes immediately upon opening the app.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated!

They simply won't answer that question.
They must think we're stupid by not expecting us to notice they they are ignoring questions and replacing it with some BS response.
I've requested a refund multiple times and instead they keep giving me the same troubleshoot advice which is clearly not working.
Customer service is abhorrent.
Temporary 'fix'
My app was set to 'offline mode' with 11 playlists which were synced in between crashes. I also had the filter set to 'Available Offline Only'.
I turned my wifi off using control centre.
Connected to 3G.
Opened the app.
Then I reconnected to wifi from the control centre.
Removed the 'Available Offline Only'.
Opened an app and started to sync it.
This is not a permanent fix because you can't open the app while using wifi and it still crashes but less frequently.
iPhone 4s
iOS 8.0 (12A365)
Spotify ver. 1.7.1
The app is registered to a different computer. I tried your method but it wont authorize my computer to install the app. Lets face it, were all **bleep**ed. Thanks spotify.

Have you guys tried the contact form from Meredith's post over here.
We think we've found a fix for this issue. As soon as we feel certain that we have fixed this issue, we will be submitting the new version to Apple.
If you turn off Wi-fi connection in the Iphone, then open Spotify app, it wont sync, so it won't crash.
Then, you in the app you turn on the Wi-fi connection, it will start syncing, and it wont crash.
At least it worked for me.
What about the fix for paying for a service that doesnt work?
I'm having this same problem.
It usually gets about 10 seconds into playing a song before crashing.
Since the new 8.02 update on iphone 5, Spotify crashes constantly. I've done all reset etc, etc. No notification page. I miss it
I'm having the same issue. Spotify is essentially useless now. Can't make it through 1 chorus of a song before crashing. I've reset my phone, & done a clean install of Spotify to no avail. PLEASE HELP.
Does the regression test pack really not include checking the filtering of playlists works?!
I'd just downloaded 1,000 songs over about 2 hours (my internet connection is particularly bad), fitlered by 'Available offline only', app worked fine until I left it and tried to relaunch.
I know it's easy to point fingers from up on high, but the feature team reposnible for playlist management REALLY should have caught this before release. Perhaps the QA was having an off day....
I e-mailed Spotify with a complaint and a request for a refund. They replied with the standard change language thing. I mailed back explaining I'd tried that and it didn't work. I got a refund for a month's subscription this morning.
Same problem. I hit shuffle play and it crashes immediately everytime.
Iphone 5c on IOS 8

Hey guys, we'd like you to try something for us.
1) Go to Settings > Language & Region (in iOS 😎
2) Under Region Formats change the Region to something else. eg, change it to UK if you're in the US.
3) Open Spotify.
If you're successful, please let us know. You should be able to change your Region Format back afterwards.
If not, please also let us know. Every report counts!
Thanks.
I am having the same problem. I have removed and reinstalled the app several times. I even found a post somewhere saying to set your region to a differnt country on the iphone. Didn't quite understand how that would work, but it didn't. This really stinks that we pay a monthly fee to use this service and since this is my primary device I listen to Spotify on, it makes the whole service worthless. I really hope they fix this soon. I really don't want to go back to using my iTunes account and downloading my music again.
The Spotify developers are currently working on a fix that should be in an update coming soon. Keep checking back for updates.
