Spotify - CarPlay Issue

My Question or Issue

Using CarPlay in BMW, Spotify plays the first 2 seconds of a song and then goes silent. The song appears to still be going, but no audio output comes through the speakers. 

Spotify works fine on it’s own from my phone. Apple Music plays fine through CarPlay.

Same problem here in my BMW. All other apps Pandora, Amazon etc play fine. Spotify stops at 2 seconds and continures to show playing with no audio. Had car in for service last week. BMW Genus at dealership tried for 30 minutes to get Spotify to play with no luck. Said it was the Spotify App. Wasted a lot of time on this issue. PLEASE FIX!

Same problem with my BMW - worked a couple of weeks ago, but now won’t play beyond a second or two.  Spotify works if plugged in and playing via USB but not wirelessly with Car Play.

I hope Spotify acknowledges this problem and posts an update on what they are doing to resolve this.  Otherwise I think a lot of people will be switching over to Apple Music.  It’s not as good, but it works...

Update:

Since yesterday, my Spotify has started working again.  I read somewhere that Spotify released an update so maybe that included a fix.

Mine is fixed too. Spotify needs to do better with updating. I started using Apple Music with CarPlay during this down time because these issues seem to happen every time iOS updates. It’s annoying.
