I have Spotify Premium. For speakers: 2 Chromecast audios and a Google home, all on the same wifi, plus two groups created to allow mulitple speakers to play. Using various iPhones and iPads as remote controls.
The issue is that under devices in the spotify app, I only see three of the possible five. I used to see all five (the change happened around April 2018.) The devices show the google home, one chromecast audio, and one group. Missing the other group and other speaker entirely.
I have: rebooted everything, updated sofware, etc., etc. all the basic IT suggestions. To no avail. Problem persists on all remote controls.
I can, however, talk to my google home and tell it to play on those other hidden speakers successfully. So the system is aware of the speakers, just refuses to sho them on my devices list. Suggestions?
I have the same issue. Two chromecast audios, 1 chromecast ultra, 1 chromecast audio group.
I can see the group, the chromecast ultra and one of the two chromecast audios. If I remove the group I can see both chromecast audios.
This was not a problem before about a week or two ago. Also, I reinstalled the app entirely.
All devices are on the same wifi network.
Same problem here.
I have the same problem. Two chromecast audio + both of them linked in a group. I see only the group and one chromecast.
Additionally, I see both devices + group in other apps! So this one definitely seems to be on Spotify. Has anyone heard from them or had any luck fixing this?
Edit: I have now been in touch with Spotify's support team and I quote:
"We've gone ahead and passed your report onto our developers, who are taking a look as we speak. We'll let you know once we have any updates."
Same issue here!!!
spotify occasionally drops out audio too. Very frustrating when guests are over and makes Spotify look bad.
I have the exact same problem. Worked around it by removing the group, so at least I can select the individual Chromecast Audios as required now - will have to re-add the group next time I want to use multiroom. Other apps works fine so it seems that this is a Spotify specific bug.
I have the same issue as well. Really annoying. Have removed my groups for now.
Same problem here.
I have 1 group of speakers, 1 google mini, and 1 google home. Spotify shows only the group and mini.
Soundcloud shows all 3 (1 group, 1 mini, 1 home). So it's not a problem with my router or google home app etc. but a problem with Spotify.
i think it's time to throw in the towel and switch to another service. started that thread here: https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/cancel-spotify-amp-switch-connect-STILL-broken/m-p/...
I have the same problem here. I stopped using my chromecast audio a year ago because of this bug. I reinstalled them last week, factory refreshed them, firmwaer up to date, and this bug still persist. I switched to Google Play Music just because I have absolutely NO problem there. Shame that Spotify doesn't fix it.
This bug now appears to be fixed. Thanks for resolving Spotify!
Not for me. I created a group of two echos in alexa app but its hit and miss when this group/multi-room appear in spotify. I say "Alexa connect spotify" & she tells me to choose device available in spotify, but again its hit or miss if my group or even the individual devices show up when i do this. Going direct to alexa app always works (playing recent spotify since thats all thats available there).
Was no issue before i added second device to group. Spotify always sees my chromecast so why wont it see my echos/group? There should be a refresh pull down in spotify to check for devices on network (or better it should just be looking by default for them upon opening app). Each time i open spotify i have to say "Alexa connect spotify" ....is this the same for other users or can you see your alexa devices without saying this? Spotify is my default music service within Alexa app.
they appear to have fixed this problem. has not occurred for months. thanks Spotify!
