Spotify app glitching and skipping songs on its own

My Question or Issue

My spotify app, since probably a few years ago, will randomly skip songs on its own, while I’m listening. Or it pauses by itself, for no reason. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Can you let me know if you have already tried any troubleshooting? If not, I'd suggest a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. If that doesn’t do the trick, can you let me know the Spotify version of your device is running?

Hi Mateus, thank you for the reply! I've tried updating the app multiple times and redownloading before -- but I can try to get around to a clean reinstall. In the meantime, I'm on version 8.8.92.666

Thanks for getting back to us. 

Seems like you're running an old version of Spotify. You should be able to update to the latest version, which as of 02.05.2024 is - 8.9.36.597.

Here's a link to our article with steps on how to perform a clean uninstall, please try those. After redownloading the app it should be up to date and no longer create issues. Give it a try and let us know.

If needed, could you please attach a screenshot with your next response so we can see how things look on your end.

I have the same issue but with my IPhone 12 Mini. Usually happens after a song has finish playing, then it starts skipping songs super fast. When it stops it cant play the song and just load endlessly. This might persist even if restarting the app.
