Hello and welcome to the community!
Unfortunately you will need to use Spotify for iOS 4 since the other app needs iOS 6.
How did you find the older version for the iOS 5.1.1? I also need it to install on my iPod that is not compatible with the newer version.
Thanks.
I'm having trouble finding the older version as well. It was on my 1st gen Ipad. Then I had to do a restore and the restore failed for Spotify. That and netflix were the only apps that seemed to not transfer over on the restore.
Any luck with the escalation. It has been a while.... Thanks!
The link you posted is marked "invalid parameters specified". Is there a solution there?
Thanks.
Ah, it looks like Christoffer's link had an extra "." at the end. Try this.
I've just done this by trying this: http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/971543
I found Spotify 0.6.4.ipa in my trash can, moved it to my desktop, double clicked it and was asked if I wanted to replace my newer version in itunes. Say yes, then in itunes drag it onto the image of your ipod and press apply - note itumes settings are fist set not to automatically install new apps.
Tried to attach the Soptify 0.6.4.ipa file attached to this reply but file types for attachments are restricted to jpegs etc. Good luck.
It looks as if Apple has fixed this issue. If you go to the app store on your iOS 5.1.1 device (I used my iPod touch) and attempt to download Spotify, it will now give you the option to install an older version of Spotify that is compatible with your version of iOS. I just did it and now can use my premium account on my iPod touch!
Good luck to everyone else! Hope it works for you too.
P.S. I found this solution from another message link regarding Spotify and older versions.
Here's a link to download older version of apps:
http://en.softonic.com/s/spotify-ios-4:iphone
Spotify no longer supports this version and it is a tad old school but it'll give you access to your playlists and most of the same features as normal.
Where do i get the spotify for ios 5?
Now in october 2014, how can i install Spotify on my IPod Touch with 5.1.1 IOS? Thank you for your help.
Hello,
With this thread you can find the solution. It worked for me and a lot of others.
Try the method used to download Spotify for iOS 5.x. I would think it would work for any older iOS, but I have not tried it myself. You can find it here:
Good luck!
