Spotify iOS on iPhone crashes every time

Solved!

Spotify iOS on iPhone crashes every time

All of a sudden, my Spotify on iPhone crashes on launch. Before it crashes, it briefly gives this message:

Browse is not available while in offline mode.

When I last used the app about 3 days ago, it was not in offline mode. I do have one playlist that is available offline. When I last used the app, those songs played fine.

Since I last used the app, I've changed my Facebook password, which is how I log into Spotify.

Let me know if there's a fix for this. My subscription is set for renewal in a week, and if the mobile app doesn't work anymore, I'll cancel that subscription.

Hi again!

That's interesting because that's the same model and iOS version I have; again, I did try doing a hard reboot of the iPhone and that seemed to clear things up. Do you have any alterations to the phone that could be conflicting with Spotify and other installed apps?

Have you tried reinstalling the application completely?

Looking forward to reading your response!

Could you try holding the Home and Lock buttons together for 10 seconds to restart your device.

Hey @paulseymour

Welcome to the Spotify Community; I hope you have an awesome time here, :).

I would personally recommend trying the steps that @Joe has mentioned in his post. Just today I noticed I was having a couple of issues with my apps just intantaneously closed when I attempted to launch them. When I reset my device (via the method that @Joe mentioned) everything just suddenly started to work again.

If anything, I would also recommend doing a clean re-installation of the Spotify app.

Let us know if any of these solutions have helped out, :).

Good call. I'd already thought of that. But it didn't make any difference.

Hi again!

Which iPhone model do you have? Additionally, what iOS are you using?

I think you're going to have to reinstall the app which, unfortunately. means you will need to redownload any offline music but it should fix the problem. Please let us know how it goes.

I've got an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4.

Deleting and re-installing the app sorted the problem out.

Thank you!!

Awesome. Enjoy your music 🙂

i'm running ios 8.1.2 on iphone 6. After the Spotify update 2.8.0 the app now crashes everytime i try to login. I get the 3 dots like it's loading, then the app just quits back to the home screen. I've hard restarted and uninstalled and reinstalled the Spotify app many times with no luck. Can i install the previous version to 2.8.0? that version was working fine

my spotify snapped and suddenly i'm 1000 songs less on my offline playlist, i think this is **bleep**ed up seeing i'm paying for this service they actually billed me today and their **bleep** doesn't work properly. i think they should fix this **bleep** asap and stop billing us untill they have fixed it. unprofessional really unprofessional

i did this and it fixed the problem untill the next time i went online and then offline. spotify is retarded simply put and they bill way to much for us to have this many problems. i'm on Android btw but have the same problem
