My Question or Issue
Annoyingly Spotify is not playing any music. I can play podcasts but not music tracks. When I click on a track it does nothing, clicking on a track in a playlist sees the green play button turn into a pause and it produces a black bar where you’d normally see the track listing (see picture attached). If I click a song not in a playlist then nothing happens. It’s incredibly frustrating and also strange that it’s not affecting podcasts. I also cannot play downloaded music if I turn my internet off.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I have also tried updating my phone software but it is up to date. Clearing cache has not worked and that is all the trouble shooting steps Spotify advise. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about other things I can try?
Many thanks 🙂
I have exactly the same problem. And like you have tried all the recommended fixes…
Been battling over the past few hours to try and fix. I don’t have the same problem on my iPad though… My iPhone is an X. It’s all up to date. Very frustrating… Hopefully someone can help?
Same thing here, but on desktop. No solution at all.
Looks like spotifys side. I can play from my phone just fine, but can't play anything from my desktop. Literally connected to the internet, and all permissions are let through. Plenty of reports on downdector as well. Also, I was literally playing music fine on desktop prior to all this happening. The play buttons are literally greyed out.
Same here - iPhone 14 on iOS 17.2. Oddly it will play downloaded songs if it’s not online - but if it’s on mobile data or WiFi it wont.
It is working on web player, though. Not ideal, but it helps 🙂
Yh, got it working on web player finally. Eh.
Same issue here, tried all the fixes I can find online but nothing has worked so far. Hoping it’s a Spotify-side issue and they fix asap it’s really annoying!
I’m also having the same problem and I’ve tried the usual fixes hopefully it’s an issue on Spotify’s side and they can get it fixed quick
Same problem here have tried multiple different things but nothing works.
Hey there folks,
Thank you for your reports and apologies for the delayed reply.
There was a temporary issue in the system, however it's resolved now.
Could you please let us know if you're still experiencing this?
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
