Spotify pauses when turning off headphones while streaming to other device

My Question or Issue

When streaming music to a wireless speaker and at the same time have headphones connected to the phone, Spotify pauses the music when the headphones are turned off. Would be great if there is a check if it's the turned off device is the one that Spotify is streaming to before pausing.

When your speaker/headphones unplug/turn off, you don’t want music to blare everywhere. I think this is an intentional feature.

To give an example, I play music on a speaker at home and then I answer a
call with my headphones (the music still plays). if I then turn off my
headphones, not used by Spotify to stream music, Spotify pauses anyway.
That is annoying.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

We can confirm that the behavior you're describing is expected. When there are headphones connected to the phone and those are disconnected or turned off, the audio playback is paused.

Even though you're streaming to a wireless speaker, the streaming is coming from the phone, that's why this still happens.

Thanks for the answer, but that is a bad behaviour and not expected as a user. I expect Spotify to check if the turned off device is the one that Spotify is streaming to then pause otherwise let the music play.

hi I have the opposite problem. on Mac with Sennheiser PXC-550II and Spotify, when I turn off the headphones the audio continues to play on Mac speakers. 

which can be a bit of a surprise especially at night.

How can I ensure, Spotify stops playing when a bluetooth headphone is disconnected?

mine is a wired one and it does that every two secs so I want to delete spotify now

I use a headphone jack but samsung phones do not support it anymore so I use a headphone jack converter for that. And it worked yesterday perfectly I was listening to music all day. but now it doesn't work.
