My Question or Issue

So I have been using Spotify to listen to music while I’m gaming, but for some reason today it turns off whilst opening a specific app.  Only that one though for some reason, I can go to home screen and it still works fine. As for a post i saw that said close your apps and it will fix it, well, it didn’t. I would like a solution TIA

Hey @Jupop, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Does this only happen with one app or all apps you open while playing? Does the app(s) involve any audio in them?

Also, let me know what device this occurs on, as well as the current software version, and we'll go from there.

Keep me posted!

Yes, these apps play audio but I have turned the audio off in the app
settings and it still auto pauses my spotify. It happens with a few, like
youtube and such, but not all my apps, including ones that play audio.

as for my device, its iOS 13 iPhone 6

Hey @Jupop,

Thanks for the info! This is expected if the app is also playing audio. This is because Spotify doesn't want to interrupt your listening experience if you're listening to audio in another app. However, once you leave the app the music should play as normal.

If you'd like can you let me know the app name that has audio turned off so I can try to reproduce this on my end?

Keep me posted!

Can I turn this off? I wish they didn't do that.

Hey @Jupop,

There isn't a way to turn this off but I'll make sure to pass your feedback to the right folks. You can also create a new Idea about this here.

Also you mentioned you're using iPhone 6 with iOS 11. Spotify supports using iOS 12 and later. There is more information on the system requirements here. This means any issues that arise with the app Spotify is not guaranteed it will function properly.

Hope this helps.
