Spotify won't download

Spotify won't download

I just recently upgraded my iPhone and started to re-download my apps. When it came to Spotify instead of seeing the iCloud symbol or get option from the App Store, it shows the stop button as if it's currently downloading but it's not. I've restarted logged out and back in to iTunes and can't seem to figure out how to actually download Spotify. Any help or tips greatly appreciated! Not too thrilled to pay for something I can't use. 😞

Greetings!

Try this and let me know if it works or not:

I found this solution online that might help:

  • Open Settings
  • Scroll down and tap on iTunes & App Store
  • Tap on your Apple ID and Sign Out
  • Turn off Wifi or the cellular connectivity after you have successfully signed out.
  • Wait for a couple of minutes before turning the Wifi/Cellular back on.
  • Head to Settings → iTunes & App Store and sign in with your Apple ID.
  • See if the download of the app resumes correctly. If not, open the App Store, search for the app in question and tap on the stop button. Wait a couple of minutes and then tap on it again to resume the download.

Have a nice day!

Thank you for your response! Unfortunately I've tried that and it didn't work. Tried it again just now just in case but still won't download. As far as hitting the stop button nothing happens. The pause button doesn't appear. You hit stop and the button turns a light blue for about 30 seconds then back to dark blue. It's really starting to annoy me since I'm paying for something I can't use and can't seem to figure out why it's doing it! If you have any other suggestions I'm open! Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

I've had this problem before, but it happened with all of the new apps I was downloading along with Spotify. Is it happening with any of your other apps? If so, the solution to my problem was restarting my device and waiting it out. If not, I'd suggest contacting Spotify.

No fortunately it's only happened with Spotify. Any and every other app I've tried to download has worked just fine.

Hey!

I'd suggest contacting Spotify about this. You can do this in a couple of different ways:

  • Twitter (twitter.com/spotifycares)
  • Contact form (support.spotify.com/contact-spotify-support) // If you get an email from Spotify redirecting you back here, reply to it, even if it says no-reply.
