Syncing Issue - Laptop to iPhone (Playlists Only)

If I make any changes from my desktop to Playlists, they do not update on the corresponding iPhone playlist. If I add a song though, I can see it immediately on my iPhone. Whats going on with this?

I have similar problem. If I create a new playlist on my mac it doesn't show up on my iphone. There is no problems with the sync of songs in other alreday created playlists. 

I have Yosemite on my mac and iOS 8 on my iphone. It's the same problem with th iPad, also runs iOS 8.
