Thumbs downed songs continue to play

I am getting frustrated as songs that I have thumbs downed have continued to play, I even started to keep track of them and one song I have thumbs downed 5 times! Why does it say it is "improving station" and I am encouraged to use the thumbs up/down to help it play music I like better, but yet it insists on playing music I have thumbs downed, not only once but multiple times?

I can understand if it plays other tracks from the same album or from the same artist as music I have thumbs downed, but this is getting quite annoying as it doesn't seem to be learning an iota about my music tastes.

Any suggestions to get this program to stop playing music I clearly dislike?

Hey, dont worry about it spotify is pretty disfunctional in the way it works, not really understanding how the radio portion of the program could ever possibly be tailored to a user.  Thumbs down will skip a song for you, but the song will replay in the current session and is guaranteed to replay next time you open it up and play the station again.  You cannot delete or edit stations.  It really is the biggest problem with a otherwise seemingly great idea.  If I am wrong let me know I will gladly let someone sign into mine and show me how I am using it wrong, but I don't think I am.  Don't expect it to work and you'll be fine.  It is probably some legal contract anyways so take what you get and dont pitch a fit.  I am gone to the next program that can do better.   If pandora had search and songs on demand it would be great, but I dont have a couple hundred million dollars and lawyers to start my own music stream service, I'm just another sheep user.

Also it is a lot easier to program and display a wavy line and the phrase "improving station" than to actually connect those actions to a profile database that would actually influences the songs that are generated for you to listen too.  There is a lot more flash than substance to spotify.  It is great you can search any song and play it, but id go radio free unless you dont care that it plays music you dont want to listen to....constantly.

Some free music sites seem to modify his function a lot quicker, I am finding if I select the radio option the suggestions are very narrow and music play list very limited

I have the same issues. Being a paying member and having these kind of problems with the radio feature is very annoying. I hate to do it but I use Spotify when I want to listen to something specific and deal with Pandora's ads when I want to do radio.
