Version 1.0 - YIKES

Version 1.0 - YIKES

This is one of those times I wish I hadn't had automatic updates on my iPhone turned on. While I was impressed with the overall appearance of the 1.0 update, the performance was the worst of any previous update, and I wish I could go back. Just to name a few bugs

1. The time keeper kept twitching between seconds.

2. The app crashes a lot, especially when opening the app.

3. Trying to search for a song is like doing a search on a dial up connection, except where typing the actual item in is the slow part.

4. The currently playing album art/track title doesn't update with the actual song that's playing.

5. The icon that shows the songs that are suppose to be sync'd for use online only shows on a select number of songs, even though the entire playlist is set to "Available Offline."

6. Sometimes the "Next track" button get's stuck and will change the track every 10 seconds before the app crashes.

I mean, the fact that it will still play music is about the only positive.. but too many crashes makes me not even want to open the app.

I am having similar issues and posted about it here: http://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-iOS-iPhone-iPad-iPod-Touch/Version-1-0-0-3251-is-unusably-slow-...

Someone suggested deleting and reinstalling the spotify app. This seemed to fix my problem (at least for now). You will have to re-sync any local tracks, unfortunately.

This solution worked for me. Thanks!

Edit: it went back to crap-mode in a matter of minutes. Reinstalling was a waste of time.

Well it sort of worked, but not really... The app is still not functioning like it use to.

I guess I'll just stick to Pandora for now.

Reinstalling worked for a few minutes but it went back to slow-mo in no time. I found the real solution earlier on another forum. Go to spotify, settings, playback, and disable Play Feedback Sounds. I've been using Spotify on iPhone for hours now with no problems.

Spotify is aware of the issues affecting a lot of users, following the latest update. Keep an eye on the main topic here for updates.
