Volume Bar Slider Gone (Deactivate "Spotify Connect"?)

Solved!

Volume Bar Slider Gone (Deactivate "Spotify Connect"?)

Hello, everyone. I hope all is well and that you're having a great day.

Within the last few weeks, I noticed that ever time I click on the 'Volume Icon', the "Connect Device Selection" page rolls in. (See Picture on Left).

I think the idea is solid, but I personally have no use for it. Therefore, I find it very obtrusive every time I change the volume of the song I'm listening to, which is a lot, especially while shopping in public.

I even tried downgrading the app version to 8.x, 7.x, and even 6.x. It is still there.

Is there a way where I can deactive the "Connect" setting so I can return to something like the photo on the right?

My phone is an iPhone 4, running iOS 6.1.3

Thank you and have a good day.

Sorry, but there is no way to turn off the "connect" feature.

The best way to change the volume without any mess is to use the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone.

Thank you, Matt. I am disappointed in the answer, but perhaps I'll file a feedback report.

Also, out of curiosity, since the option appears to be within most of versions of the app I reinstalled (8.x, .7.x), is it safe to assume the original function of having the "volume bar slider" is still withint he app, but deactivated?

I'm not sure exactly when, but the connect feature was added to the volume slider sometime in the fall of 2013.

I'm not sure if installing older versions will get it back.

Wow this problem hasn't been addressed yet? There is no volume bar still. When I click the volume icon it just sends me to the connect page. It's very frustrating considering it's stuck on a medium volume even with my phone turned up all the way.

It pisses me off because I would use my spare iPhone working off Wi-Fi only to plug-in to the receiver and stream the music while my active iPhone is used to select music change tracks etc, while not having to separate myself from my phone so I can still text etc. Volume was a key feature for me because I could control the volume from anywhere in the house (or the world for that matter).

Also my old iPhone volume buttons don't work 😖

  1. To Spotify: This is not a solution! I am using my ipad to listen to spotify and the volume is set too high and I can't control it either from the headphones or the ipad's physical volume buttons. Could you please bring back the volume slider and also have the connect button big and visible as it used to be? Why make things so complicated? Thank you.
