Volume goes to max by itself and gets stuck (iOS 7.1)

On iOS 7.1 using spotify 1.0.0.3251 but happened on the previous version too.

Sometimes when adjusting volume with the iPhone side volume buttons, the volume suddenly goes to max on Spotify, even breaking the volume limits set on iOS. The iPhone volume indicator freezes on screen, and you can't adjust it at all, not with the side buttons, and not with Spotify volume control. When you try to slide the Spotify volume bar lower, it keeps going back to max by itself. Only thing that help is rebooting the iPhone.

This only happens with Spotify.

Any solution so that I wont have to worry losing my hearing?

I have exactly the same problem except my iPhone 5C Mutes instead. Once I've turned the phone off and on all my 2000+ offline tracks are no longer available offline. Really really annoying. Any fix??

When this happens is the app still responsive even though the volume is frozen, or does the app freeze?

hi - this happens with me; I go to up the volume by one notch and it goes to max volume and sticks there.  I'm a bit worried it would cause ear damage when wearing earphones.  Spotify remains responsive, but my iphone 5c needs (iOS712) rebooting to fix.
