My Question or Issue

ive been having an issue with Spotify for a few months now where the volume of my music changes by itself but the main volume on my phone doesn’t change. I have a few examples

 

1. I start playing music at full volume for while I’m in the shower. My phone turns black with my music still playing, I get a Snapchat notification that turns on my screen (ringer on silent) and my music volume goes to the lowest it can go. However when I go to turn it up it says it’s on max volume. The only way I can get the volume back up is to close the Spotify app and restart my listening. Then I turned do not disturb on so that didn’t happen again. (This happens often)

 

2. I will be playing music out loud on my phone say at half volume, I exit Spotify and enter Instagram, the volume drops to about a quarter volume but turning up the volume does not reflect the ACTUAL music volume. I’ll go from ‘half’ volume on my bar to full but this is actually only about half of my full volume. If I exit Instagram and enter chrome it’ll drop further. Sometimes closing and reopening the Spotify app will fix this sometimes it won’t. This happens constantly. 

Just hoping someone has a fix for this

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and for the details! It really helps with the investigation.

 

A clean reinstall is often overlooked, but can help resolve different performance issues so if you haven't already done this step you can check out this article

 

Would you mind letting us know if this behavior happens if you're streaming on another device via Bluetooth or Connect? It'd be great if you could also share if you've noticed any difference when you're playing music with a different internet connection (mobile data, Wi-Fi).

 

Lastly, make sure you're also running the newest software version of your iPhone.
