My Question or Issue

How do you stop video playback (music videos) automatically playing when in car mode.   It's very distracting.   All the doco is "put it in car mode to limit distractions" and "safety safety" but there's these distracting flashes from it playing a looping music video while open.

Hey there @Davidcolenz,

Thanks for reaching out and informing us about this 🙂
We've reported it backstage and it will hopefully get addressed soon.

In the meantime though we'd also like to know if you use Bluetooth or Apple's CarPlay when connecting to the vehicle. Keep in mind that CarPlay should keep the last state music has been played in. If you check and find there is a toggle to disable the music video and then you pause the song before disconnecting it will not play upon reconnect and videos should theoretically stay off.

If there's no such toggle, then we'd have to wait and see what the folks backstage will have to say.
We're here if you need anything else in the meantime and we'll keep you posted. Cheers!

Hi there @Davidcolenz,

Sounds like you're referring to the Canvas feature: it's 3-8 second looping visual layer or static image that replaces the album artwork in the Now Playing View. You should be able to disable it in the app's settings. Could you give this a try to see if that does the trick?

Keep us posted 👍
