can't login on iOS 7.1.2

My Question or Issue:

I have an older iPhone that doesn't get used for much, other than as a glorified iPod, and occasionally for distraction-free travel (when I need an iPhone with some very basic functionality, but don't want all of the apps intruding on my time away from my desk).

Up until relatively recently, Spotify worked fine, but today I turned it on to discover I'd been logged out of my Spotify account and couldn't log back in. I have used the user name and password that logs me in on all other devices, but am getting an error 409 when I try to login, and can't get any further.

Wondering if anyone else has discovered this issue, and what they've been able to do to resolve it.

Hey @cameronkburgess,

If your device isn't listed in the supported devices article, we cannot guarantee it will continue to work.
Any unsupported devices will sooner or later stop functioning.

Workarounds are of course always welcome in case anyone can find one 🙂

i have iphone 4 and last week it worked but now i have error 409

it's not nice to let only the newest ios to have spotify and the worst is that one week ago it worked just fine with an older version of spotify so if someone could help me it would be nice
