This bug has happened on iOS 14.5, then 14.6, and now the 15.0 beta on an iPhone 12 Pro.
When listening to music through either bluetooth or just the speaker on my iPhone and placing the phone on a wireless charger (brand doesn't matter, I've tried Anker, Samsung, and some no-name) the audio cuts out for about a half a second before being restored. It does this when the phone should be making the charging "ding" and shows the little charge bolt animation over the battery at the top right. Once you remove the phone from the wireless charger the audio cuts out again as the charging icon changes back to the battery. This is reproducible 100% of the time for me and doesn't happen when plugged into a cable to charge.

Thanks for following up! It would be amazing if this could be fixed.
Here are my details:
iPhone 11 Pro Model MW9K2LL/A
iOS 15.1 (same issue on previous versions including iOS 14)
Spotify Version 8.6.82.1634 (and all previous versions)
This happens on multiple iPhones. Happens every time you place or remove it on a wireless charger. Tried different phones, different chargers, fresh OS install, reinstall of Spotify.

Hi Ver! Here are all my current details. If you read back through the thread you'll see my prior specs, I've been pretty active here.
Just did a clean reinstall, and it has solved the issue for now. I’m now on 8.6.84.1353 for what it's worth. ll continue to keep y’all updated.
I've also noticed that deleting my cache in the Spotify app does not always bring the cache to 0. The lowest I could go before clean reinstalling was around 2 or 3 MB, and now post clean reinstall I can get it to 0 but only with repeated taps of the Delete cache button.
Hi folks,
Thank you for your replies!
@spelchekr We're glad to know that the issue is solved for now! Please keep us updated in case you notice any difference or if it comes back.
@RickyN29 Thank you for sending over that information. It'll come handy if we need to report it.
If anybody else is still experiencing this issue, please share with the information requested by @Ver, so we can share it with the relevant team.
We'll be on the lookout.
I was able to find the cause. I did the reinstall then went preference by preference. The audio cutout happened immediately when I activated the "enable voice" function. I think that's causing the cut out.
It was making me nuts too. Let's hope this holds!
Yup, that's it! Enabling voice search immediately reintroduces the issue, and disabling "Hey Spotify" and force quitting/restarting the app gets rid of it. I can leave voice search enabled (which is great because that's a genuinely useful feature), and just trigger it via the mic button or long pressing the Search button in the bottom.
Such a great tip - this fixed my issue on iphone13pro, too!
Disabling Hey Spotify does resolve the symptoms of the issue, but it doesn't actually solve the underlying problem. Would love to see an actual fix for this problem that allows users to continue using the Hey Spotify feature.
Hey @Linseylovell,
Thanks for your reply in this thread.
You can start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your devices to see if this makes a difference. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.
Did you notice if this happens on another mobile device with iOS? You can ask for the mobile device of a familiar or a friend to open your account and check 🙂
We'll be on the lookout for your replies.
Take care!
Clean install helped for me, thanks.
I’m still dealing with issue (iPhone 12 Pro Max) on a wireless charger but can’t fix it because spotify got rid of the “hey spotify” feature. Does anyone else know who to get rid of the temporary pause when dealing with a wireless charger
