My Question or Issue

My songs have been pausing randomly and constantly while listening ever since the most recent update from the app store. I tried all the troubleshooting i can think of and it just seems like a bug. Working fine on Android too.

When I reinstall it stops for a while but it always starts cutting out within a day or two. Nothing helped and I'm believing it to be an issue with the app itself as my Internet connection is consistent and this only seems to happen on Spotify.

The behavior you're describing seems similar to the one that was reported here, could you have a look?

 

If it's different, does it occur over another Wi-Fi network / cellular data? You can ask a someone to create a mobile hotspot so you can connect your phone to it. Also, have you noticed some sort of a pattern, like this happening shortly after the display goes off and your phone locks? If possible, it's worth asking a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your device to see if the issue would still occur.

No itโ€™s not the same as that problem, my app stays open and working. The track just pauses.

 

I have tried using both cellular and WiFi to see if it was my internet, but while using both the problem still consists. I have even tried using my Xbox and iPad and the problem is consistent. As far as iโ€™m seeing thereโ€™s no pattern really, the track pauses about one third of the way through and i replay it and it pauses again another third of the way through while playing in the background and while the app is up. I have tried another device ie Xbox and it does the same thing.

In order to check if the issue is account-related, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on one of your affected devices to check if they can replicate this behavior? 

 

If it only happens with your account, it's recommended you secure it by following the steps below:

 

  1. Log in to your account page and scroll all the way to the bottom.
  2. Select SIGN OUT EVERYWHERE.
  3. Request a password reset by visiting this article.

It's also worth checking the apps that are linked to your Spotify account on your account page under Apps and remove any you don't recognize. You can find out more tips on how to protect your account here.
