iOS apps not matching between accounts

Solved!

iOS apps not matching between accounts

So my wife and I have the same phone, and both have our own accounts. Mine recently went from the trial Premium to the paid Premium. She is currently on the free 1 month trial for Premium. Both apps show they are on 3.9.0.1054, and both show under the Accounts section they are Premium. Yet, our menus are very different for some reason. Hers doesn't show Radio at all, mine doesn't have the Shows/Podcasts. What's the deal here? Already tried uninstalling and reinstalling on her phone, but still showing the same menu.

Yes, they may both be on the same version, but think of this like a switch on each account, and until the switch is turned on the account will have the old menu 🙂

If you want i can escalate this for you and we can see if spotify will turn this "switch" for you? 🙂

Hello @DCSport

The menu in the first screen shot is the new Spotify menu that is rolling out to users 🙂

both devices will eventually have the same menus 🙂

But you could maybe speed it up, by checking that both you and your wife are set as in the same country on your account, you can check that here.

But i cannot guarantee that will give you the same menu 🙂

I hope this helped! 🙂

Have an Amazing Day! 🙂

Thanks for the reply! What I still don't understand is that both apps say they are on the exact same version.

No that's okay, I'm not too worried about it. I actually like the menu better on mine 🙂 I understand now that it is tied to the account, not the app version. Thanks for clarifying!

Side note: Spotify menus aren't very navigation-friendly, even on the version I have. My wife was complaining because she couldn't find the Radio and her Playlists sections, but she was able to dig deeper and find them. Not sure why they had to be moved?

@DCSport

this menu is a work in progress, and is still changing, but the reason for these changes is to try and put all 'your' music under your library and everything else under sub categories (Eg: music, now and Running etc.)

but an easy way i always remember it:

if your looking for music go to:

  • Search
  • Now
  • Moments
  • Running
  • music

for shows or podcasts:

  • Shows
  • Search

For All your playlist music and things you are following:

  • Your library
  • Search

I hope this helped! 🙂

I have the same problem with me and my girlfriends family account. Please can you "flip the switch" on my account too?

I'm missing the new podcast feature!!

Hey @Slever

Everyone should have access to the podcasts feature 🙂

But lets try figure this out:

  • What country is your account set to? (You can check that here)
  • Are you in the same country as your account is set too?

I Hope To Hear From You Soon! 🙂

Account is GB based on overview page on the Spotify website. I have no Spotify "now" 😞

Here is a screen shot.

Hey @Slever

I just spoke to someone from Spotify and they said that Spotify is rolling out the 'Now' Feature and it will be available to all users soon 🙂

Sorry for the inconvenience 😞
