iOS doesn't recognize my premium subscription

Solved!

iOS doesn't recognize my premium subscription

I had a FREE subscription for over a year, then became a PREMIUM subscriber. My premium subscription works on my iMac computer, but my iPhone and iPad do not recognize that I am a premium subscriber. The Spotify app on these devices shows only that I have a free account. How do I link my premium subscription to the Spotify iOS app?

Hey @NeilAD,

It sounds like you've got a second account with Spotify. Are there any other email addresses you could have used to register with Spotify? It's worth checking those inboxes to see if you have any Spotify emails -- that will mean your extra account is registered with that email.

  • If you don't have another email address, note how you log into the Spotify app usually.
  • If you use your Facebook details try entering your Spotify username (if you created one originally).
  • If you use your Spotify username try entering just your email address.

The solution you suggested worked. I had been logging in with my email address with my free account and continued doing so when I became a premium subscriber. So, following the logic of your suggested solution, I logged out on all my devices including my computer. Then, I logged back in using only username, first on my computer, then my iOS devices. The Spotify iOS app now recognizes my premium subscription.

Thank you for your assistance.
