I'm having this problem on my iphone 5S, upgraded to ios8. The language/settings trick did not work, neither did changing to airplane mode. Airplane mode got me a little further on the loading screen, but crashes as soon as the app seems to "load". Completely broken app right now. Anyone else not have the language/region trick working?
I am also very very unhappy about this bug since it is known to Spotify since month; it has occurred first time with beta ios8.
Anyhow, I have figured out that at least on my 5S this bug is somehow random. The "workaround" is nonsense. May be it was successful one time but I am sure not a second time.
The thing I have observed is that Spotify checks the conditions of the mobile device upon start, like e.g. the time/date - just to check your off-line time etc. I have manipulated the gen settings here, bcs. this is essential for Spotify. BTW similar to WiFi on/of or flight mode on/of. And here I was successfull after changing the day about 4 days back and the music is back alive. What I have done then is to go off-line and not to quit the Spotiffy program anymore in order to let the program re-check the condions of the phone.
Now I am sitting around waiting for somebody to kill successfully this **bleep**ty bug - it more than a bug, it is an desaster which could have been avoided by proper communication and higher level of feeling responsible.

My Spotify app still doesn´t work on my iPhone 5s after installing the iOS 8. I tried the aeroplane mode and changing the language settings.
It crashes every time I try to open the app. It is frustrating because I use Spotify mostly with my iPhone and I am a Premium user. I should get my money back for not being able to use the Spotify for almost two weeks now...

Now it works! I uninstalled the app, then changed the language settings to English from Finnish, then re-installed the app and it opened nicely. Then I changed the language settings back to Finnish and the Spotify still worked. Great!
Same issue, this was the only way for me to get it to work again!
