My Question or Issue

Hello everybody.
I have a problem that I encounter only in the car: when I turn on the car and the car radio starts (Pioneer AVH-Z5100DAB, connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone XS Max, current software version 15.3.1) for about 3 months it always starts from the "Spotify Radio", while before it always started from the point in the playlist where I was the last time I listened to Spotify on iPhone. This means that I always have to search the history to listen to from that point (it becomes annoying to do so every time).
Have any of you encountered the same problem and managed to fix it?
Thanks in advance for the answer (I've already looked in the FAQ and previous topics, but the ones I've seen are from several years ago and I doubt anyone can answer me in those now).
David

Hey there @davide1980boit

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Would you mind sending us a short video where we can see what is happening so we can take a closer look? You can attach it by using the Insert Video option in the post editor or uploading it to Google Drive and sharing the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to see it).

On another note, we'd recommend making sure that your car's infotainment system is up to date.

We'll be on the lookout.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, I can't take a video or photo at the moment. However, I don't think it's very useful: the car radio starts as always in the "Spotify" section, the only thing different from before is that instead of starting from where it was last time (the same point of the same song, as it always has) restarts from the radio of that playlist I had selected the last time (so with random songs chosen by Spotify, many of which I don't even like). When this boot difference occurred I didn't do anything to the phone or car stereo and the latter was updated as firmware to the latest version available.
I'm neither a Pioneer nor a Spotify technician, but from how the problem arose I know there must be a selection to edit on the Spotify iPhone app. Unfortunately, I have tried them all but I cannot find the point that solves this problem for me.

Hey @davide1980boit,

Thanks for keeping us posted on this.

Could you try the following:

  1. Go to Spotify's settings on your phone and make sure Autoplay on this device and Autoplay on other devices, found under Playback are disabled.
  2. Pair your phone to the Pioneer device in your car with Bluetooth to see if Spotify Radio starts playing automatically again.\

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers!

OK. Now I try and let you know. Thanks for the advice. But I wonder: if I disable these two options, I think that the car radio (and maybe even the iPhone) will no longer let me hear the "recommended songs" at the end of the playlist (since I will disable that option), while until recently does that thing was active (in fact the "recommended songs" started at the end of the playlist) but it was played ONLY at the end, not when the car starts, like now. I don't mind "the recommended songs", I just want it to come back as it used to and play it ONLY at the end of the playlist. Anyway I'll try your advice. Thanks.

Hey @davide1980boit,

Thank you for keeping in contact.

The recommendations at the end of the playlist won't be affected if you disable those options. Turning them off will just prevent them from being played automatically after the playlist in all devices.

If after disabling these options you're still having the issue, let us know.

We'll be on the lookout.
