Community Posting - Have to wait 5 minutes to correct a post?!

Community Posting - Have to wait 5 minutes to correct a post?!

There is a 5 minute delay between posts, which means that if you forget to add a label, you have to wait 5 minutes before you can submit with the label.

That's a terrible user experience, you should be warned about the label and not able to submit, so it doesn't even count as a submission....

Hello @wcndave!

Thanks for coming to the Community and giving this very useful feedback. In which section did this happen? Ideas Exchange, Help Boards... ?

Keep me posted 🙂

It happened right here, where I am posting this message. Navigating around this help/forum is pretty confusing, but I was posting just like this. Does that help?

**bleep**, how bad is this problem... so annoying!

I just tried to post, and even though I am logged in, I have to do 4 google captchas... why? I am logged in...
Then after doing them, it said they were wrong, So I did again, then it said corrected invalid HTML, when I had no HTML in my post, then I had to do the captchas again, and then finally it said:

Correct the highlighted errors and try again.
Post flooding detected (user tried to post more than 2 messages within 300 seconds)

So basically, after 5 attempts to just write a simple message, which took me 10 minutes... I am not allowed to. Very very frustrating! (I also had to wait 10 minutes until I could post this message, and by then the content disappeared saying my session had expired, lucky I copied it....)

Now it says: Authentication Ticket Mismatched, failed authentication.

Hello @wcndave!

Your issue is being discussed by Community staff. Just to get some more info, do you have any ad-blocks or other privacy plugins enabled? These might interfere with session status.

Keep me posted 🙂

Thanks.  I was using incognito clean version of chrome.  the only plugin would be a password manager.

Hello there!

Staff members have looked into this and at first glance it seems to be the built-in flooding/spam prevention system. Thanks for highlighting the issue.

Cheers!

I understand that you have a system for that.

However I am a logged in, paying member, who's also clicked the "I am not a robot", and was trying to edit a post I'd already made....

Waiting 5 minutes before you can edit a typo is nonsense, having a captcha + logged in + preventing editing is just horrible UX.

Talking of which, whilst I was typing this, there was a "feedback" popup, which I didn't notice, so I had to type most of my response above twice, as it blocked me from entering data....

I went to the feedback link, and it shows a tiny box, on a huge screen, which scrolls left and right as you type, and then after entering some feedback, it told me I had given too much.  AFTER....

Take a look at Logitech Media Server from 15 years ago to see how to make a good UX (not UI), almost everything I try to do on spotify ends up doing the opposite of what I intended, or doesn't work!
