I'm going to begin with my backstory of Spotify in the hopes that it will help ... somehow. Naybe only help in no other way than free cathartic sharing regarding what has now become mildly unhealthy (and mounting) Spotify-cross-Facebook RAGE.
So, my husband got the Spotify app last year on a $0.99 3 mo/Premium offer and fell in love. When his 3 months expired, he promptly began paying the monthly fee because he had been sucked in like everyone else and didn't want to lose his app freedom and his playlists etc. etc.
Because he loooooves Spotify Premium SO FRIGGIN' MUCH he began begging, cajoling, attempting bribery, trying to "steal and stealrh install" on my phone etc. for MONTHS to get me to dump I ❤️ Radio for Spotify promising me in the beginning of last December that there was a $0.99 premium offer going on and that he'd even pay it and all that. So, I asked him how long for, he said almost the whole month. So, I said I'd think about it and let him know when I decided (he still pestered).
Finally, towards the end of December, I agreed. He was SO HAPPY. So, I deleted my trusty old I ❤️ Radio app and downloaded Spotify free onto my S5 using my gmail address (there is no person in the world more ... tightly clenched ... than I about bogging my phone down with (cr)apps so this was major) and asked him for his card info (a deal's a deal) so I could pay the $0.99 and asked him where exactly I was to go to do that and unlock the Premium trial. He looked at my phone with the newly DL'd Spotify Free and his face fell. Apparently, the offer had expired the day before.
So, now that that back story has been laid, I will get to my rage ... and the problem. After I tested Spotify Free for about a minute, I realized how bad it sucks. Sorry, but it's true. Shuffle play only and limited skips on that shuffle play majorly, majorly SUCK. Some evil **bleep** at your corporate headquarters probably got a raise for coming up with that little combo. I watched my husband with his complete freedom in the land of Spotify Premium with bitter jealously and resentment every month when $9.99 rolls out to you guys.
So, it is now July but in June, I finally got word of a trial offer abd took it--a $0.99 3 mo/Premium offer--and the gates of heaven cracked open with golden rays of light and angelic choirs. I had it all and I, of course, love it all lIke every one else. I have total freedom and every single thing but FB is perfection. That one thing--Facebook linking--is my problem. When my trial is up, you will be getting $20.00 from my household, monthly. Maybe. It depends on if this problem can be fixed.
Whenever I try to share a song from Spotify to Facebook, I get an error message telling me that that FB is already linked to a different Spotify account. This confused, frustrated and irritated me. I tried over and over. No work. So, I finally went to Spotify.com and discovered that, at some point in the past I have no recollection of at all, must have created a Spotify account using my Facebook and then abandoned it without ever using it (well ...maybe it was me but I'm a little sceptical ... I have a very good memory).
Well, I have a different Spotify account now and it's in the early stages of Premium trial. It was created on an android device with a gmail address that controls my whole life and is going nowhere. I still log on to Facebook with an old yahoo email that is for that only. I'm not deleting my FB account and I'm not killing my android app Spotify (Premium trial) on my phone with all the songs I've already saved and playlists I've made. There has to be a better way. It took a lot for me to achieve Spotify love and loyalty so I really don't want this to end ugly.
I need to link my current Spotify Premium trial account (that I use daily) to my Facebook account (that I use daily) and that is currently connected to some old Spotify account that I don't remember making and never used so I can share songs from Spotify with people on FB. How can I do this? Can't you just delete that old account that was made with Facebook on your end?
