Hacked?? Random likes, playlists and friends on my account and music randomly pausing.

Hacked?? Random likes, playlists and friends on my account and music randomly pausing.

I recently set up a family Spotify account - all the users have different logins and there are no shared playlists.

I login through Facebook.

There are a few things that have been going wrong recently and I wondered if I have been hacked.

  1. Random songs being liked (not just one or two but 10/20 at a time (have asked the family and it is none of them. I have also had random people being followed and random playlists being liked so it is not like this is happening by accident
  2. Music randomly pauses

I have used the Spotify function to sign out from everywhere but it still does not make a difference.

Can someone help? I was also wondering if there is a way to see where my Spotify has been accessed from so I can indeed see if I've been hacked.

Hey @akountourides, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

I’m sorry to hear about this! In this case, I’d recommend checking out this support article for the next steps to take.

To prevent this from happening in the future, there are many measures you can take to protect your account, such as resetting your password every few months, and not using passwords you have used on other sites. There is also a great guide here for some more measures on protecting your account.

If you see an email from Spotify, and can’t tell if it’s legit, use this checklist. Of course, Spotify makes sure that all user records and platforms are completely secure around the clock.

I hope this helps.
