How do I share my local music on a collaborative playlist?

How do I share my local music on a collaborative playlist?

I want to add some of my local jams to a collab. playlist with some work buddies. But they're telling me they can't listen to anything local that I upload?

Do I need to search for each track individually in the database and put the online version in there? Is there faster/more efficient way to do this?

Thanks!!

Try right clicking on your local files and selecting "Update info with Gracenote". This will try and link it to a matching file located on the Spotify service. This will then hopefully show up correctly for your friends now, too.

What if it is not on the spotify service yet?

How do I get music onto the spotify service?? 🙂

If the tracks you are looking for are not available on the Spotify service then you can still add them as local files (if you own them that is) and your friends will be able to see them on playlists but not play them.

You should direct any music addition requests to the record label, as Spotify upload all music they get sent by them. 😉
