I no longer have access to the email address on my account. I can't change it because my Spotify account is connected to Facebook. Changing the email on Facebook doesn't change the email on Spotify. Contacting Spotify is useless because they will just send a message to the email account which I can't access (it's a web-based email which can't display any message sent by Spotify - because their messages contain a banned string).
I wish to change my display name as well. Can I disconnect my account from FB and still maintain my playlists? I still don't get why I'm completely unable to edit my profile just because it is connected to FB.

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I guess you will just have to create a new account. Emails from accounts that are first created with Facebook accounts are unchangeable.
For changing the display name, It is easier on mobile phones.

I can't edit my profile at all just like I can't edit my email. It's because my account is connected to Facebook. So I'll have to start a completely new account just to use a different email address? This is so weird.

You can start a new account with your preferred email address and transfer your music collection over, following this guide.
Alternatively you can get in touch with out Customer Support team here. They'll be more than happy to help out with updating your email address if possible.

If you have created your account through Facebook, you can contact our Customer support and they can help you change your email address from their end.
